Comparison and Contrast to Other Known Diets
Gluten Free Diet - My style of cooking does not contain any gluten naturally as it is only found in grain products like wheat, oats, and barley. However, I do not use gluten free grains or starches like rice, potatoes, corn, or the flour forms that are gluten free. Those may not hurt those with a gluten sensitivity or allergy, but if you want to keep your waistline and health intact, I would recommend naturally gluten free options like using flours from nuts or coconut and spaghetti squash for pasta.
Low Fat Diet - There is almost no comparison! My style involves all the forbidden foods that low fat diets from red meats, fatty fish, butter, natural oils, and so forth. Low fat diets, depending on which one, will revolve around getting most of your calories from grain carbohydrates, egg whites, lean meats and fish, fruits, and vegetables.
Vegetarian/vegan - So a lot of what I use can be friendly for this type of diet except for the fact that I do cook meats, poultry, and fish. So yes, I do use full fat dairy and eggs which are vegetarian friendly, but not vegan friendly. Also I do not use soy products like soy beans, soy nuts, or tofu!
Pescetarian Diet - There is a such thing as being a low carb pescetarian and my style of cooking does use fish. Nothing too different as far as foods eaten on this diet except for pescetarians don't eat meat and some may not use diary or eggs.
South Beach Diet - Some principles may apply of foods allowed, but a lot of what I use may be off limits to this particular diet. Of course I use plenty of natural oils, poultry, and fish that South Beach encourages, but I do use other foods that are told to be limited or excluded on this diet.
Atkins Diet - Anything I make is friendly for all phases unless a certain recipe is allowed on a different stage. However, I do not use certain things the diet allowed like low carb versions of modern processed foods and drinks such as Atkins all-purpose flour, Atkins pasta, sugar-free products sweetened by sucralose or sugar alcohols, and so forth. I either look for one with natural stevia, make something by scratch, or just exclude it.
Paleo Diet - I can't afford organic foods or don't have the best access to a local farm for reasonably priced meats and produce. However, most of what I use is paleo friendly except for dairy products. Some principles do apply as far as nothing processed, but not exact.
Primal Blueprint - As discussed in the Paleo section, it would be friendly for this as well if my products were grassfed meat, dairy, and fresh vegetables that are organic. A lot of principles do apply to this, but not exact.
